What's been going on...

Well hello!

It's been awhile since I've posted...well at least since I've posted a "normal" post. The last post was an attempt to meet a nice guy...however that didn't work out. Oh I didn't meet a bad guy...I just didn't meet a guy. That's okay though, I'll just keep waiting for one to come along. I trust God will bring that man into my life when He is good and ready to...He knows my needs best after all.

Anyways...life's been pretty normal here. Just working...and...well...working. I think I work to much. :) Oh well helps pay what little bills I have at the moment and adds to the savings too.

On the plus side, I bought some plane tickets!!! I'm going to go and see my big sister and her family and meet Baby V for the first time!!! I can't wait! I don't have to much longer, since I'm going at the end of March, but I will say since I have bought the tickets that the days seem to be going slower.

Oh and I might also get to be a model for a bridal shop that recently opened nearby! How exciting is that! I was at a BNI meeting with my boss and was talking with the owner of the shop and out of the blue she asked if I'd be a model! I said sure! I think that the photo's are going to be used in a spread in a local bridal magazine too...so that would be a cool thing.

I guess that's pretty much it. Until next time...which is hopefully sooner than later, but I make no promises.

All the Single Men...

Hi! I'm Jennifer!

I'm 28, and live in the St. Louis Metro Area.

I have a degree in Graphic Design. I currently work for a photographer and love it! I also work at Kohls, which is fun at times.

I love art! I have always been interested in it since I was a little girl. I have a lot of art and crafts that I like to do when I have time, such as painting, scrap-booking (but not the crazy - scrap-every-detail-of-my-life kind), and photography...oh, I also make jewelry out of dominoes.

One of my favorite Oil Paintings!
I also play the guitar....well kinda. :) I took lessons in college, but it's been awhile since I've played. It's something I would love to get back into (so if you can teach me that'd be great!).

I like to play video games, board games, card games...I just like games. I love to get a bunch of my friends together and have game nights...with good food. Speaking of good food...I love to cook, and my family and friends really like the things that I make. One of their favorites is the home-made mounds bars.

That's me on the right...having a great time!!!

I'm very involved at my church. I teach a 4-6 year old Sunday School Class, as well as Puggles - the 2&3 year old group in AWANA. I also am part of the choir, and enjoy singing.

I'm looking for a man that loves the Lord and desires to raise a family based on biblical principles. Church fellowship is important to me and I would hope it would be to him also. I don't have any children, but look forward to starting a family one day.  I'd like a man that is funny and spontaneous. Someone that likes to do anything from watching a movie at home, to going out for mini-golf or bowling. I'm not looking for someone who smokes or drinks. A man who has a little of a romantic side, and is chivalrous.
Me and my niece!!!

If you are, or know someone who would be interested, comment below.

Aaawwkwaardd!!!

Let me just say...I *HATE* being put in awkward situations...especially when the other person involved is someone I am going to see occasionally. It's not so bad when your probably never going to see the person again, as is the case with awkward situation #1:

I had one random guy walk up to me (at work mind you) and tell me that I look good, it was a little awkward, but not so bad. I was flattered, but if you know me at all, you know it was a bit awkward.

Situation #2 happened today when a guy that I know, that is old enough to be my father...asked if I wanted to go to the movies with him sometime....uhhh...uhh...yep that basically what I said...(that and I don't know...). WHY CANT I JUST SAY NO!!! Umm, or better yet, "Thank You, I'm flattered, but your not my type." Now this is going to make things very awkward anytime I see him.

What's a girl to do?

It's January 5th...

...And I am doing HORRIBLE at keeping up with any of my goals, and by horrible...I mean not at all. I really need to get it together and get on track!

What I really need to do is come up with a plan, or a schedule...or something. Anyone have any good pointers??

New Year, Same Goals

Happy New Year!!!

I'm so ready for a fresh start! As most people do, I have set some goals that I would like to accomplish...of course they seem to be the same as the ones I made last year.

My Goals:

First & Foremost - to be drawn closer to God and to be in His Word daily. To trust in Him for ALL things in my life, and to continue to do His will for my life.

Second - to create more art, and possibly start an Etsy shop...

Third - to be more healthy and exercise on a regular basis. I would like to lose a few pounds so that I don't have to buy new clothes, I like the ones I have and hate that they are fitting kinda tight.

Forth - to blog more - I'm making no promises on this one...but it's goal.

That's it pretty basic. What are some of your goals? I hope you will be able to accomplish some of them!

Why Do I Attract All The Weird Ones??

Okay...so I do have a profile on a couple of these free Christian Dating sites...and I have gotten some very interesting responses from these guys...

Like the one I opened tonight...said something about meeting Jay Leno and that Leno told him a joke about a guy who was stranded the ocean and prayed and asked God to save him and He sent 2 boats and a helicopter and the guy refused all 3 b/c God was going to save him...I'm sure you know the rest. (If not and you really want to know...leave a comment, and I'll finish it for you.) Anyways, so then he moves on to this story about the guy who invented the UPC Bar Codes, and how his first, middle, and last name all had 6 letters in it making his name a 666 name??? Uh okay...what?? Then he said something about sending me one of these bar codes if I was interested....

Yeah...sure...since I didn't really even read half of your message, and have no idea what a bar code has to do with getting to know anyone...so umm...I'm going to say no thanks.

WHY ME??

So today started off as a good day, got up to go into work at Gary's, was getting some stuff done, was burning some CD's...then realized we had a small problem...and by small, I mean pretty darn big!!! I'm not going to go into much detail, but let me tell you it just pushed me right over the edge...into tears. I always feel so silly for crying over things, that in big scheme of things are actually really very small. It's just been a little stressful, and seems to be getting more so each day. I will, though, persevere. Not on my own strength though, I definitely need God's Strength to get through the rest of this stretch of Senior Photography Craziness!!!

UUUUGH!!!!

Hopefully, the rest of the week will go better.

I HAVE SOOO MUCH TO DO!!!!

Mostly at work...oh my word...

I have things to get caught up on from last year...when I wasn't there, as well as all the new orders that are pouring in. It's a great thing that we are busy, but when you are literally the only employee...you can only do so much so fast.

That being said, please pray that I can get/stay caught up do a great job. Also that I don't get too stressed, and that I don't overwork myself...as I also have a second job, and I don't need to be getting sick. I need strength and patience.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

Well, Hello There Bloggers...

It's been a while. How's it going?

I have been a horrible blogger...it's been forever since I have written a post...at least on that will make it to my blog for all to see...

I have just been so busy working. Between Kohl's and the Photography Studio...it's a little crazy. Especially at the Studio. We are at the end of photographing Senior Portraits and we are soo booked up...probably a little overbooked to be honest. I have so much work to get done, and not a lot of time to do it in. If you think of it, say a prayer that I can get what I need done in a timely fashion...and that I don't loose my mind whilst I do it. Kohl's on the other hand is just...well...Kohl's. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

I've had some other interesting things happen in the past few months too, but that may be a post for another day. I'm going to do my best to post and let you see a bit of my life...I hope to start tying some art into it too.

That's all for now, have a great day!!

Who Knew Planing Something Sooo Fun Could be Soo Hard

Next weekend I will be part of a celebration for one of my best friends - this celebration will be her Batchelorette Party! We are going to have a blast!

Out of her 4 attendants, each of us took a task for that night, I got games. I thought "oh that will be easy enough" - think again friends, think again. Oh sure, if your a group of girls that want to go bar hopping, and get wasted, and get guys to pay to suck candy off your shirt - THAT'S when it's easy. But we are not. Yes we want to have fun, but not necessarily that kind of fun. But I did find a few games and I think we will have fun with what I came up with. I would like to find some more though...any suggestions? Any?

A couple weekends after that will be my friends wedding. I'm so excited I can't wait!!

I went on a mission last week...and still haven't completed it!

So last weekend I went on a mission to find shoes for my friends wedding that I'll be in next month. I found quite a few that I liked, but it always ended up that they either didn't fit right or they didn't have my size...what's so hard about finding silver sandles...and who is buying them all up in the middle of winter!!!

To top it off there are a pair of flip-flops that Target sells that I want to get for dancing..but they don't have them at any of the stores...good thing they have them online...guess I'll just order from there.

I'm hoping I can find some quick so my Mom won't shoot me!! She is going to hem the dress after all and it needs to get done soon!!

Any one have any suggestions? I think I've hit almost every store in town, with a few exceptions.

Our Giant Snowman...

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did! Good food, great family, great gifts...and snow, beautiful, soft, white snow...with which we used to build a GIANT snowman!
Yep...right after dinner, my sister, her husband, his brother and I all went out side and built the biggest snowman I've ever built...or seen.
Here he is...our GIANT Snowman! I'm going to be taking a photo of him every day (well...at least I'm going to try) until he melts completely, then try and put together a video of the progress. I'll post that when it's done...and maybe keep you updated every-so-often along the way.

The End of the Semester is FINALLY Here!!!

This week...was final week. 3 tests and 1 presentation later...I'm done. I was sooo ready for the semester to be over...now I just get to wait and see what my grades are. I'm not too worried though...there was only one test that I'm not so sure about.

Now I just have to finish Christmas shopping...if only my little sister would let me know what her and her husband want...*sigh*...I'll figure something out.

I am going to do my very best to do regular postings...but no promises. Don't expect any in the next week either...I'm gonna be a studying fool - and attempt to ace the few tests that I have next week!

Beautiful Wedding and A Bouquet!

This past Sunday was a Beautiful Day!

Great Weather - Perfect for a Wedding!

Yep. This past Sunday a long time family friend and his fiance (now wife!) got married!
It was a beautiful ceramony held at The Muny, and a fantastic reception to follow.

It was a little bizzare to see Z, whom I've know for about 15 years get married, but at the same time it was wonderful to see him grow up and find the love of his life. T made a very beautiful bride, and is a great person, of whom is a good friend, very kind and definatly loves the Lord just as much as Z does. May God bless them for many, many years to come!

Of course at the reception there was the typical speech by the best men, and bridesmaids (yes, they had two...how cool is that!), the cake (smashed in each others faces, of course!), dancing, oh and the garter and bouquet toss.

Let me tell you, I have been trying to catch that darned bouquet at the last couple of weddings I've been to with no avail...and two of them were my sisters weddings. (Of course I think Little M and her husband rigged it so that some friends of ours who were engaged and getting married 3 months later caught the garter and bouquet, but whatever) I didn't think I was going to catch this one either, but got in the group of the girls and the bouquet was tossed...and I caught it!

Not that it really means anything...but it was fun to finally catch it. Of course it could be fun to see if the superstiton behind it comes true at all...of course I know I woun't be the next one to get married, since A, another family friend who might as well be our sister is going to be getting married sometime next year.

Apparently I NEED a Guy to Buy Me a Ring...

Okay so I teach a Sunday School class at my church.

Of which the students are between the ages of 4-6 (depending on when the graduate Kindergarten).

I have one girl in my class right now, K. She is very smart...and observant.

This past Sunday as I was getting ready to start the lesson she asked me why I wore three rings. So I explained to her that one was from my Aunt, one was from my sister, Little M, and the other well, I bought for myself just 'cause.

Then she says..."Well M (Little M's husband!) needs to buy you a ring!"

I laughed and told her that he has already bought Little M a ring and that he didn't need to buy me a ring.

She asked me why a guy hasn't bought me a ring yet...

REALLY!?

What am I supposed to say to that

Then she says..."Well some guy needs to buy you a ring!"

I just looked at her, and said..."Well...I'll work on that..."

:/

Somehow...I can just see her excitment when that does happen.

(And I hope that it'll happen sometime in the near futer...you know after I meet a guy and all that jazz)

:)

Dear Male Kohl's Customers...Please Learn How to Read the Restroom Signs.

Because I'm sure it is very embarrassing to take your son into the ladies room.

Yep today at work I saw a man taking his son to the restroom...however he walked into the ladies room instead of the mens room. I'm actually suprised that this does not happen more often since our male customers (or at least most of them) seem to never (or at least hardly ever) see the sign for the mens room. They either a) realize that they are about to walk in to the ladies room, or almost walk into the break room. We (us customer service gals) are constantly pointing these men in the right direction.

I guess I just didn't see where the man was heading today and didn't realize it until wto women, whom I am assuming saw the man in the ladies room were joking him about it. He took it good heartedly and told the ladies that he thought it a little odd that there were no urinals in the "mens" room. :/

So...Male Kohl's Customers...please learn to look for/read the signs. You'll have alot less embarrassment bacause of it. :)

Since My Last Post...

I guess I've been busy...or lazy...or perhaps a tiny bit of both, because it has been awhile since I last put up a post. So here's what's new:

I got me new car! I'll try to make a post about it and include pictures soon. It's a Mazda 6 and I LOVE it! Got it at a pretty good price too, and it has low milage!

I turned 27. The best part about that was when my freinds threw a suprise birthday party! I was totally suprised - it was awsome! God has blessed me with some of the best friends a girl could ask for. I'll probably make a post on that soon too.

The most exciting thing is that I am going to be an Aunt to another beautiful baby girl in September/October! My baby sister is expecting her first. I am so glad she only lives fifteen minuets from me instead of somewhere faraway, like my older sister and her family does, which means I'll get to see her alot!

Other than that not a whole lot besides work...and school, just started back up for the summer. Getting closer to hopefully being able to find a job in my feild.

Homework break = Makeover!

Look! I changed my background!

I was getting tired of the old one and went searching...and I found a cute one...with a cute little owl on it!

Anyways, I am hoping to be getting back into my art very soon. I'm getting ready to re-do my art room I can't wait! It's going to be so organized! (Hopefully it will stay that way!)

I'll try and post pics of it when it's done.

Well I better go, gotta get back to that of which I am a slave tonight....homework...at least it's kinda fun... :)
